Cinnamon is legendary— the phoenix sought this fragrant bark to build its rebirthing fire. Cinnamon essential oil is indeed powerful, as it promotes blood circulation and is both anti-fungal and antiviral. It is useful in cases of muscle cramping and poor digestion or appetite, as it stimulates the release of chemicals in the brain that fend off feelings of weakness. In sickrooms, it may be diffused to ease respiratory infections and disinfect the space.
The history of cinnamon is as colourful as it is ancient. It was used by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans for everything from gastrointestinal relief to precious perfume. Julius Caesar, upon his triumphant return to Rome after the conquest of Egypt, heaved perfume containing cinnamon into the reveling crowds in a demonstration of power.
Dilute cinnamon oil well, as it may cause welts on the skin when applied topically. Pregnant women and those with epilepsy should use with extreme caution, as it can cause contractions in high amounts.

Essential oils are powerful plant essences that can be used in many ways. From massage oils to room sprays, to skincare to aromatherapeutic blends, these oils are as versatile as they are diverse. When using essential oils by breathing/inhaling their aromas, they are normally used at full strength. Yet when applying them directly on the skin, the large majority of them MUST be diluted. Because essential oils are so powerful, we do not recommend using them internally.
Essential oils are also the basis of natural perfumery, and can be used to make aromatic, bespoke blends for every individual who wishes to embark into the world of natural essences.
